This coffee comes from Finca Lérida, one of Panama’s historic coffee estates located in the highlands of Boquete, Chiriquí. The estate is currently managed by the Amoruso Family, who have continued its long-standing tradition of producing specialty coffee while preserving the lush forests and natural environment surrounding the farm.

Situated at approximately 1700 masl, Finca Lérida benefits from Boquete’s cool mountain climate and high-altitude growing conditions. The combination of elevation, volcanic soils, cool temperatures, and significant differences between warm days and cooler nights creates a slow and steady cherry maturation process. This extended maturation allows sugars and aromatic compounds to develop gradually, contributing to the clarity, sweetness, and vibrant fruit character associated with high-grown Panamanian coffees.

This lot is composed of the Geisha varietal, a variety that has become synonymous with Panama’s specialty coffee industry. At high elevations such as those found at Finca Lérida, Geisha is particularly expressive, often producing delicate floral aromatics alongside bright citrus and stone-fruit characteristics.

The coffee is processed using the natural method, where whole coffee cherries are carefully dried with the fruit intact. This allows the sugars and fruit characteristics from the cherry to interact with the coffee during drying, creating greater depth and sweetness while preserving the distinctive floral character of the Geisha varietal. The resulting cup presents layers of apricot and navel orange, followed by a delicate jasmine-like floral quality.
